Welcome to Taco John’s – Home of the Original Taco Tuesday! We are a fast food restaurant specializing in Mexican-inspired favorites like tacos, burritos, nachos, and more.
Our Story
Taco John’s was founded in 1969 in Cheyenne, Wyoming by John Turner. It all started when John’s family opened a hamburger stand called the Hamburger Inn. One day, John decided to experiment with hard-shell tacos on the menu – and customers loved them! The hard-shell tacos were such a big hit that John decided to rename the restaurant to Taco John’s and focus the menu entirely on Mexican food.
From those humble beginnings in Wyoming, Taco John’s has grown to over 400 locations across 28 states. We pride ourselves on serving fresh, bold flavors in every meal. Our taco shells are made in-house from scratch every day. We top them with premium meats, cheeses, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and your choice of salsas and sauces. It’s a signature Taco John’s taste you can’t find anywhere else!

Taco Tuesday Tradition
No one does Taco Tuesday like the original Taco John’s! On Tuesdays, our tacos are only $1 each all day long when you purchase at least two tacos. It’s a weekly tradition our customers look forward to. Taco Tuesday has been a signature part of the Taco John’s brand for over four decades.
